Recipe: Peanut and Cocoa Protein Bars

If you’re looking for a protein-rich breakfast snack that’s easy to prepare and perfect to take with you, these peanut and cocoa protein bars are the ideal choice. With a balanced combination of protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats, they help keep you feeling full and provide energy throughout the day. Plus, they’re made with simple, natural ingredients, with no added refined sugars.

Protein bar

The creamy texture of peanut butter combines with the intense flavor of cocoa to create a homemade alternative to store-bought bars, but with a superior nutritional profile. You can make them in advance and store them in the refrigerator to always have a snack ready to eat.

Ingredients (6 bars)

  • 100 g natural peanut butter
  • 30g chocolate or vanilla protein powder
  • 50 g oat flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons honey or date syrup
  • 50 ml of milk (can be vegetable)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 10 g dark chocolate chips (optional)

Preparation method

  1. Mix the dry ingredients: In a bowl, add the oats, protein powder, cocoa and cinnamon.
  2. Add the wet ingredients: Add the peanut butter, honey and milk. Mix well until you get a smooth dough.
  3. Form the bars: Line a small pan with baking paper and spread the dough evenly.
  4. Add topping: Press the chocolate chips on top of the mixture.
  5. Refrigerate: Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours to solidify.
  6. Cut and serve: Remove from the refrigerator and cut into 6 bars.
