6 Dicas para treinar em casa sem equipamentos

6 Tips for training at home without equipment

A workout routine outside the gym depends on practicing the right exercises, but it doesn't stop there. We know that every athlete, no matter how committed they are, can become unmotivated when conditions aren't necessarily ideal. In these cases, it takes focus and organization to keep training.

Here are some tips for training at home without equipment

1. TRY TO CREATE A DEDICATED SPACE FOR TRAINING

Our workouts are a commitment, just like our work. Therefore, just as those who work from home should have a dedicated space for their home office, those who exercise at home should reserve a space for their practice.

Of course, you don’t need to set aside an entire room for exercise if that’s not possible. But setting aside at least one spacious corner can help you turn the switch and focus on your workout. You can leave everything you need there, such as your sneakers, mat, and water bottle for when you’re working out.

2. SET A TIME OF DAY

Following a well-established routine is a way to overcome procrastination. Just as you set a time of day to go to the gym or sports center, choose a time to train at home. Block that time in your calendar, because it is a commitment.

3. REDUCE DISTRACTIONS

The comfort of home brings a series of distractions that can take away our focus, such as an unmade bed that invites us to take a nap, the television ready to play our favorite series or even other people who can interrupt us during our practice.

So, reduce distractions. Make your bed as soon as you wake up, ask people who live with you not to interrupt you, put the dog in another room, and focus on your goal.

4. GET INTO A ROUTINE

At home, you might be tempted to wash the dishes or tidy the living room right when you’re about to exercise. Or the phone might ring. Or you might realize there’s no milk in the fridge and you need to go to the grocery store.

Having a routine is essential to organize the time of day for each task, especially if you also work from home. With so many things to do, training time can be way down on the priority list and never happen.

Get your planner and organize the times you will work, take care of the house and exercise.

5. TRY NEW EXERCISES

You may need to make adjustments to your workout, as not all exercises you do at the gym can be done at home. This does not mean reduced performance, just using other means to achieve the same goals.

Trying new exercises is also a way to challenge your own limits. Since you won’t have the same variety of equipment as you would at the gym, look for alternative activities to avoid boredom and feel like you’re making progress every day.

6. TAKE HELP FROM APPS AND ONLINE CLASSES

There is no shortage of apps and online classes for those who want to maintain their physical fitness and achieve goals without leaving home. On various platforms, you can find classes for different goals, such as muscle strengthening, cardio training, resistance training and stretching.

In specialized apps, you can input your goals to create personalized workouts. Many of them also help you track your performance and progress, which can be a source of motivation.
